Under the Arches
A tigress at dawn · Ranthambhore · 9 April 2026 · 6:17 to 6:48 am
There is a stretch of Ranthambhore where the old trees lean over the grass and their branches meet like the ribs of a hall. At 6:17 on a cold April morning a tigress was lying in the open beyond them. A minute later she got up and walked in under the arches.
She came through the trees towards us, close enough that one frame is only her face, went past, and was gone by 6:24. Twenty-three minutes later we found her again, walking between the trunks. These are the frames in the order they were made, in the colours of that morning.
