Riddhi’s cubs from 2023 were nearly grown by this summer — big enough to hunt, not yet ready to leave each other. On the evening of 26 June two of them were lying together in the leaf litter with the light going.

For eighteen minutes they leaned on each other, stretched, got up, looked at us and lay down again a little further apart. Within months they will hold separate territories and will not tolerate each other at all. I was glad to have one more evening of this.
