Not every trip is a forest. In December I spent a few days in Udaipur with a small camera and no long lens, and photographed the city the way I photograph a lake in Ranthambhore: from the water, at the two ends of the day.
Most of these were made in one hour on the evening of 14 December, from a boat on Lake Pichola as the light went — the City Palace, the ghats, the bridge with its lamps coming on. The rest are courtyards, arches and chequered floors in between.
